ABOUT KUBI2.0

kubi2.0 is a tablet stand developed by iPresence, named after the Japanese word for "neck." The neck delivers 300° of smooth horizontal rotation. While this feature ensures clear connection between distant locations, we are also diligently working on adding a vertical tilt capability. The exact vertical range is currently being determined during the design phase. It keeps a close eye on the patient's face even from a remote location, allowing for realistic conversation. It can also be connected to school from the hospital bed, allowing for realistic school participation.

When used in combination with a tablet device, medical professionals and doctors can communicate smoothly with patients using a video calling app, and can also check facial expressions and symptoms.
It is also suitable for supporting home visits and home care, and can help with coordination with family, other medical staff, and school staff.

The original kubi was developed by Xandex, Inc. (USA). Development of the successor model, kubi 2.0, has since been taken over by iPresence.

Hospital (Osaka) Hospital

Currently being used as a tool to connect hospitalized patients with schools. Patients can move around by themselves, and the field of vision in the classroom is expanded, allowing them to participate in society without bothering others. Plans are underway to use it as a communication tool between medical professionals.

Employment support school Employment support school

This is a place of employment for people who have graduated from support schools in Akita Prefecture. Many people want to work from home without commuting to the center. The system was introduced with the idea that people can participate in the workplace from home without feeling isolated, and eventually be able to commute to the center and work.

Kubi2.0 in the medical field has 360-degree movement and up and down movement that normal tablets cannot, so it is effective for visiting bedridden patients and newborns. I think there are many potential users.

S Support School S Support School

I was able to actively participate in concerts and field trips in 360 degrees. It was popular with boys who like robots. Kubi2.0 nodded and responded in a way that made it feel more real. I like being able to control it myself and see what I want to see at that moment.

As various cutting-edge technologies bring new value to the fields of medicine, education, and nursing care, our newly released "Kubi 2.0" has the potential to help even more people solve their problems.

Many people feel inconvenienced or lonely in their daily lives, such as students who cannot attend school due to illness or injury, residents of nursing homes who have difficulty meeting with their families due to aging, and patients and medical professionals who need medical support from remote locations. There is a problem that can be solved simply by having a new communication option called "Kubi 2.0."
For example, in the past, Osaka Prefecture has enabled high school students who were hospitalized due to illness to attend classes remotely, ensuring they had opportunities to continue studying and interacting with friends. In hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has served as a safe way for COVID-19 patients to visit their families, doctors, and nurses in intensive care units.

"Kubi 2.0" is not just a technology, but a solution that connects people and provides connections that transcend time and place. In addition, demand for Tele-Health is rapidly expanding worldwide, and remote medical care is contributing to the elimination of medical disparities and improving the efficiency of medical facilities. "Kubi 2.0" is an innovation from Japan in these fields that has the potential to be used in medical, educational, and nursing care facilities around the world.

We sincerely hope that Kubi 2.0, which strongly embodies the iPresence philosophy of "Teleportation as a Service," will be of use to many people and bring joy and peace of mind both at home and abroad.
