Entering our 13th year in business — A message from CEO Christophers

Thank you for your continued support. This is Christopher from iPresence.
April has already arrived in 2026. Our company has entered its 13th year, and we are deeply moved and truly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far. How are you all doing?

Having worked in the remote communication industry for over 16 years, I feel like I've constantly pondered the question of what the essence of communication really is. Taking this opportunity, I've written about the thoughts I've poured into my activities so far.

...
~From "Talking" to "Transmitting"~
I believe there are two types of communication: conveying "information" and conveying "feelings." And these two exist and are intertwined in all sorts of "forms."

For example, art is a medium for conveying the artist's thoughts. What is felt, what is conveyed, and what moves one differs depending on the thoughts and experiences of both the questioner and the recipient. I think that's where the fascination and emotion lie. When looking at Van Gogh's paintings, we try to understand what he wanted to convey from the "information" such as the motifs, the overall composition, and the brushstrokes. What was his intention when he applied that brushstroke? What was he feeling when he smeared the paint thickly onto the brush? By contemplating these things, a communication that transcends time and space is achieved.

I believe that in the business world, most tasks involve communication. Meetings, taking minutes afterward, taking photos and videos, drawing diagrams, collecting data—it can be real-time, or it can be creating something for someone in the future based on past understanding, or developing strategies to sell a product. This is also true when creating and selling products. The intentions of the designer or producer are imbued into the design. "It's good because it's simple," or "I want to make the world colorful with colorful designs," and so on. Sometimes these claims are easy to understand, and sometimes they are very difficult to understand. If they are easy to understand and resonate with people, they will reach more people. I think one of the mechanisms of business is that if they are accepted, they become products and services that sell.

Everyone is making various efforts to ensure that their information reaches someone, somewhere.

In recent years, the rapid development of generative AI has been changing all forms of communication. Some people are able to ride this wave of change, others are struggling to cling on, and still others are left completely behind without even realizing it.

iPresence has been producing new forms of human connection born from the concept of communication x cutting-edge technology. We are a group of people who can move forward with confidence based on the intuition that this will make someone smile. I believe that is where our strength lies.

Even without precedent, we have presented our customers and the world with the "forms" that we believe are best. Sometimes this takes the form of a telerobot, sometimes the metaverse, sometimes avatars, holograms, or AI agents. Furthermore, a new company specializing in the construction industry, ArchiTwin, has been created to manage the construction process by creating digital twins that transcend even the time axis.

While direct conversation is certainly important, its purpose is not solely "information transmission." The quality of communication improves synergistically when "emotional transmission" is added to it. I believe that "talking" is one of the fundamental human needs, following "clothing, food, and shelter." Furthermore, when emotions are added, it elevates to "communication," and the two-way interaction improves the quality of the dialogue.

Last year, I saw news reports about mothers and children separated by the conflict in Gaza. Thinking about what they might be happy to have, I conceived the idea for a remote hugging robot called "FuAra" and presented it at the World Expo to ask visitors about its value. It combines technology with emotional touch and affection to "communicate" remotely.

Going forward, I envision these new forms of communication becoming a vital part of social infrastructure, and I want to take on this challenge over the next 5 to 10 years.

Incidentally, this text was created without using any generation AI. I'm not rejecting AI. AI will influence every aspect of our lives, becoming an entity that knows less than we know, and will accelerate human knowledge and evolution exponentially. In this co-creative society, a new value field called "Made by Human" will likely become even more valuable. And we wanted to convey our feelings to the fullest extent, so that people can feel our desire to "communicate" our thoughts. While expanding our capabilities through communication with AI, we also want to cherish human-to-human communication even more.

We hope you will continue to support iPresence, which embodies these sentiments.

March 31, 2026 Christopher Chris Francis, President and CEO, iPresence Inc.
