In this lecture, President Christophers will capture the "pros and cons" of remote communication and talk about the strong passion he has put into his business to overcome these challenges.

Instructor: Christophers Chris Francis
President and CEO of iPresence Inc.
He moved to the UK at the age of 14 and spent three months volunteering in southern India supporting children with disabilities before going on to university. After graduating from the Department of Architecture at the University of Sheffield in the UK, he began his career as a designer/architect. After working as a sales manager at a major recruitment company and a foreign company, he founded iPresence LLC in 2014.
He was also selected as a semi-finalist in the global avatar robot development competition "ANA Avatar XPrize." With his diverse career and desire to contribute to society, he is pursuing new forms of communication by making full use of various technologies, including telepresence avatar robots.

Graduated from Hibiya High School in 29. He has had a strong interest in nature and living things since childhood, and during his student days he traveled all over Japan in search of endemic species. He has been exploring how nature and humans can coexist in society. He obtained a master's degree at the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Tokyo, where he researched the transcriptional control mechanism in plants' responses to nitrogen nutrition. During his time at university, he worked to solve environmental issues in a variety of locations, including a project to utilize unused biomass in Obuse Town, Nagano Prefecture, and a project to utilize abandoned forests in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Currently, as the CEO of Japan GX Research Institute, he promotes new business development related to decarbonization, resource recycling, and biodiversity for companies, and develops practical projects aimed at achieving harmony between society and nature in collaboration with research institutes and local governments.
