[6/12 iPresence Event Report] Experience the Italian Pavilion that connects the venue and hospital at the “Anywhere Expo”!

This is a report on an event where children at hospitals and other facilities were connected to the Expo site remotely, allowing visitors to enjoy the Italian Pavilion. We will share with you photos of the interaction and commemorative photo shoots that took place using the temi robot.

June 2025, 6 was an unforgettable day for iPresence. The Special Kids Future Concept Challenge Consortium hosted the "Anywhere Expo - Remote experience of the future Expo created with Special Kids - iPresence Event," which brought lots of smiles to the faces of people.

On the day, we will be hosting a special event for those who are regularly involved with iPresence.Approximately 15 organizations, including hospitals and support schools, participated, and about 200 children and teachers attended.But they were excited about a special remote experience. Our autonomous mobile telepresence avatar robot, temi, took them to the Italian Pavilion at the Osaka Kansai Expo."Everyone can experience the Expo in real time" from the comfort of their own hospital or other facilityIt was truly a dream come true.

In this article, we will introduce how this event was planned, what kind of thoughts went into it, and provide plenty of photos showing the atmosphere at the venue on the day and the lively expressions of those who attended.

Tours of the Italian Pavilion connecting the Expo site and the hospital have begun!

Now, the experience tour finally begins. On this day, we operated temi, which was installed on the first floor of the Italian Pavilion at the Osaka Kansai Expo.We guided the children to the Expo site. In the museum, which is bustling with general visitors, temi slowly moves around the exhibits, almost as if acting as a set of eyes for the children.

We want the children to enjoy this special Expo experience to the fullest. With that single-minded goal in mind, all the staff have been working hard on the preparations. We put a lot of thought into every detail, from how to operate temi to how to best convey the atmosphere of the expo and which exhibits to highlight. We were excited as we imagined the smiling faces of the children on the other side of the screen.

Children are introduced to the torch exhibit that will be used in the torch relay for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

At the "Anywhere Expo iPresence" event on the day, lively communication took place through temi. The staff actively interacted with the participants through the screen. They answered various questions from the children carefully and participated in quizzes carefully prepared by the local guides, creating a sense of unity at the venue through this interactive exchange.

Temi moves around the venue to various exhibits, providing children with live footage of the exhibits.

The Farnese statue was about 2 meters tall and was placed on a pedestal, so temi could look up at the exhibit even though it was so tall.

Even more impressive was theChildren interacting with visitors from far awayThe smiles and words exchanged through temi were proof of communication that transcended physical distance. The children’s curiosity and the warmth of the visitors who responded to it filled the entire venue with a harmonious atmosphere.

A special moment awaited us at the end of the experience.The monitor showed the lively faces of the children.A commemorative photo was taken in front of the Farnese Atlas, a particularly popular ancient Roman sculpture in the Italian Pavilion.
